I’m always game to try a new beauty regimen as long as it passes my test of reasonableness; safe and inexpensive. The first time I ever heard about skin brushing, I had just turned 40 and the naturopath that performed my colonic, suggested that I give it a try as it helps with the removal of dead skin and improves circulation. It sounded like too much work at the time, so fast forward a decade and I stumble across an article on the Internet about skin brushing. Basically, it involves brushing your skin upwards from the feet towards the heart to help eliminate toxins from the body through the skin, but it also improves the texture of your skin.
I decided to give it a try and purchased a natural bristle body brush from Amazon for under $10. I’ve been brushing consistently for the past 3 months and I must say that my skin texture has improved dramatically. It’s much softer and smoother than I can ever remember. The most important benefit though, is the movement of lymph fluid which aids your body in processing and removing toxins from the body. I’ve also read that body brushing can help to eliminate the appearance of cellulite. Now I can’t testify to that at this point, but if I see some change I’ll be the first to let you know!
